Christy provides compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based psychotherapy to adults navigating anxiety, OCD, burnout, trauma, low mood, relationship challenges, grief, self-esteem, and major life transitions. She creates a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients can better understand themselves, develop practical tools, and work toward meaningful and sustainable change.
With a multidisciplinary background spanning counselling psychology, cognitive science, and neuroscience, Christy brings an understanding of the connection between the brain, body, emotions, and lived experience to her therapeutic work. Her approach is integrative and tailored to each individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model of therapy.
Christy draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), exposure-based therapy, mindfulness and self-compassion practices, as well as IFS-informed, polyvagal-informed, somatic, and trauma-informed approaches. Her work is collaborative and neurodivergent-affirming.
Supporting individuals experiencing persistent worry, racing thoughts, physical symptoms of anxiety, perfectionism, and difficulty disengaging from anxious thinking. Therapy focuses on understanding anxiety patterns while developing cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and body-based strategies for regulation.
Supporting individuals experiencing obsessive thoughts, intrusive thoughts, compulsions, avoidance, reassurance-seeking, and anxiety related to uncertainty. Treatment may incorporate exposure-based approaches, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), to help clients gradually face feared situations, thoughts, sensations, or uncertainty while reducing reliance on compulsive responses and avoidance.
Helping clients experiencing exhaustion, overwhelm, loss of motivation, workplace stress, or difficulty separating their identity and self-worth from productivity. Treatment may include nervous-system regulation, boundaries, values exploration, cognitive strategies, and developing healthier and more sustainable relationships with work and achievement.
Providing trauma-informed support for individuals working through difficult past experiences and their ongoing emotional, cognitive, relational, and somatic impacts. Therapy emphasizes safety, understanding protective responses, increasing emotional regulation, and gradually processing experiences at a pace appropriate for the individual.
Supporting clients who struggle with self-criticism, shame, perfectionism, people-pleasing, feelings of not being “enough,” or uncertainty about who they are and what they want. Therapy focuses on strengthening self-understanding, self-compassion, internal validation, and building a life that reflects the client’s own values.
Helping individuals understand patterns that develop within significant relationships, including difficulties with boundaries, assertive communication, attachment, trust, conflict, and fear of rejection or disappointment. Therapy can help clients recognize how past relationships and experiences influence present-day beliefs and behaviours while developing healthier ways of connecting with others.
Providing neurodivergent-affirming therapy that recognizes differences in attention, emotional regulation, sensory experiences, executive functioning, and ways of processing the world. Therapy works collaboratively to identify strategies that fit the individual and support their strengths, needs, and goals.
Supporting individuals navigating bereavement, relationship loss, career changes, identity shifts, and other significant transitions. Therapy provides space to process difficult emotions while making meaning of change and moving toward a life that remains connected to personal values and purpose.
Christy believes therapy works best when clients feel genuinely understood rather than reduced to a diagnosis or set of symptoms. Treatment is individualized and may integrate CBT, DBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness, self-compassion, IFS-informed parts work, polyvagal-informed interventions, somatic strategies, and other evidence-based approaches depending on the client’s needs.
Her neuroscience and cognitive science background also informs her interest in how thoughts, emotions, bodily responses, attention, perception, and nervous-system regulation interact. This allows therapy to move between practical skills and deeper exploration, helping clients both manage what they are experiencing now and understand the patterns underlying it.
